WHAT ARE GENERAL STRIKES FOR?

We all have immense power: we can grind the economy to a halt. And we can use that power to demand a world that works for us, not one that only benefits billionaires and a corrupt regime.

do strikes work?

Strikes work. Again and again and again we have seen people rise up against authoritarian regimes, standing shoulder to shoulder with their neighbors - and winning. Repression depends on lies and division and silence. When we stand together, unified, we can demand the world we need.

what happened in minnesota in response to ice? what does that have to do with striking?

One in four Minnesotans took action in a unified, statewide pause in daily economic activity January 23rd. Over 1,000 businesses closed, tens of thousands of Minnesotans took to the streets and the airport, all in unified, non-violent action to protest ICE terror. This is what we need to see nationwide. And now we know it can be done, here and now.

what we’re building

No matter who you are or where you are, there’s a role for you. Learn more about the power of strikes.

OUR PLAN

Talk to everyone: Your friends, your family, and coworkers. Talk to them about why strikes build our power.

Join a training: Learn more and get plugged in.

Build and maintain: We won’t stop building the power we need to support your community and your coworkers in a strike.

Stay ready: We’re building toward May 1st, A Day Without Workers as a test of our power - but we may need to call a strike sooner.

Act: When we need to strike, we strike.
